Peace Dove

“Peace Dove” first arose from a commission request that got canceled. First I was happy to have more time, but suddenly inspiration struck. I could see the dove from the children’s book I illustrated, “A Sheltie’s Tale” by author Len White (2016), flying into light of varying shades of blue. This was an opportunity to greatly change the way the dove character appeared, and I wanted to give it whispy, softer lines. The idea was to keep things simple and just say “peace.” This design took less time than any other card I’ve done, at about 70% digital art and 30% colored pencil drawing. It’s not yet widely distributed, but will be for sale first at Terra Studios this month, and more locations in fall 2017.
